Dear Vinians,

Greetings,

I write to you, for an issue of fund raising and charity work in our organization-VINOBA. Formed in 1968, VINOBA is now 41 years old. As we all are aware, VINOBA, since its inception, has always been, ‘of the school, by the school, and for the school.’

Treasuring these emotions, we have a moral responsibility towards our school and our staff and employees. Carrying this responsibility and living up to it, we as a family need to come forward and embrace all those who have likewise embraced us, when we stepped into this glorious institution. This would involve doing a lot of philanthropic work for the children of our beloved staff like funding their education, some token money for the marriage of their children, medical help, and cash awards for academic excellence and so on.

Besides these philanthropic measures, we can also consider other avenues which would make a notable difference to their lives at this mellow age. To begin with, we may start on a small gesture for our staff members like:

For the wedding of Staff member/employees or their son, a token money or
‘SHAGUN’ of Rs.1100/- or Rs. 2100/- from VINOBA side may be given.

For the wedding of a staff member/employee’s daughter a token money or “SHAGUN” of Rs. 5100/- from VINOBA’s side may be given.

Some financial retirement benefits can be given to the staff retiring from school. Minimum service in BPS should be 20yrs. of service.

1. Teaching Staff – Rs. 31000/- ,
2. Non-Teaching(Admn.)Staff- Rs. 21000/-,
3. Cl. IV employees- Rs. 11000/-, etc.

In order that such thoughts hit the ground up and running, it is necessary that we have a sizeable fund to drive them forward. As for our existing funds of VINOBA, we have little more than Rs. 4 lacs as Fixed Deposit and about Rs. 40000 in our Savings A/c (which I believe, is not a very healthy amount by any standard.) However, since last year our fund supply has been accumulating at a healthy pace of about Rs. 70000 per year as membership fee from the batches passing out from the school every year.

In order that we maintain this steady growth of funds, I seek to propose the following measures for your astute consideration. To begin with, I would like to seek approval for the following fund raising measures:

1. That all regional get-together ceremonies contribute a sum of Rs. 20000/- towards the VINOBA Fund.
2. That batches celebrating any or all anniversary functions contribute a sum of Rs. 20000/- in the VINOBA Fund.

The above amount is a proposal & may be amended. With these suggestions before you, I humbly await your invaluable suggestions and hope that your judgement brings VINOBA a step closer to our alma mater. Attached, please find a presentation on fund raising.

With best wishes and warm regards.
